Janaga - Comission

So, I did this for a friend of mine. It's her D&D character; you can read some background story below, if interested.

About the picture itself; good things first. I like the pose. Think I managed to do something original and more interesting this time, you know, she's not just standing there. Overall, I'm also quite pleased with the result. But while doing this one, I seriously began to doubt my own style of coloring. I don't like it. Thus, need to work to change it... but you know it's difficult to adopt new style, when you've built your own for so long. It's just.. my style is way too slow, and I want to have better contrast in my pictures. Anyway, here's the story:

Janaga Gellantara, at the age of 10, was an orphan when her foster parents Lienna and Lomren Laughsfield took her in their home. They lived in a forest close outside The capital Minnuarion. Before that she was a beggar and a pick-pocket with an unresistable charm. She has no recollection of her real parents, except a bit of her mum.

At school Janaga wasn't the popular kind, but she wasn't shy either. She did learned very quickly, played hooky a lot, and always had her talking to get out of trouble. After high school she left her home to avoid getting married and to join a band of thieves, whose leader she became eventually.

She is now 25 years old, and uses a bow and a knife, speaks common and elven language. She has an accompany-pet a duck who's name is Nelis.
